Chief Officer Robin Smith sworn in at Royal Court

The newly appointed Chief Officer for the States of Jersey Police formally takes post today (Friday 10 January), as he is sworn in at the Royal Court.
Chief Officer Robin Smith has significant experience of policing at a senior level in the UK.
Commenting on the occasion he said: “I’m hugely excited and genuinely honoured to become the Chief Officer of the States of Jersey Police.
“I’ve been really impressed by what I have seen thus far and I am especially grateful for the warm welcome I have received from the Police Force, our partners and the Islanders I have met.
“I recognise that I have much to learn about Jersey and how to most effectively protect this unique island community. My commitment is to do just that, using the next few weeks to really get to know the Island, the people and my team
