Jersey Police Authority publishes report of
external inspection of the States of Jersey Police
Late in 2018 and early 2019, the Jersey Police Authority (JPA) welcomed Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabularies and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS), to conduct out an external inspection of the States of Jersey Police (SoJP).
Inspections of this standard are performed on each of the UK Home Office funded police forces on an annual basis, and by invitation only from any of the Crown Dependencies. The last visit to Jersey by a UK inspection team was 2008. Since the 2008 HMIC inspection, partner national police forces have conducted several independent peer review inspections of the SoJP in areas such as, provisions for counterterrorism, managing sex offenders, how the police work with children involved in domestic abuse and the conduct of investigations.
